And I thought last week was bad...

Well ya'll it's been a pretty bad week, I know I've done a lot of whining on this blog lately, it just seems like when it rains it pours! Sorry about that, blogging is my therapy :P Robby had a terrible day on Monday, even with me he was crying inconsolably, and my gut kept telling me that something besides the toofs were bothering him. Tuesday was better, but this morning I took him to the emergency room. I'll spare you guys the gory details, but you know those little foil wrappers on wine bottles? Robby had eaten one, probably picked it up off my not so clean kitchen floor, and he swallowed it, digested it, it went all the way through his tummy, intestines, and got stuck on the exit ramp if you guys know what I mean, I saw it this morning when I was changing his diaper. So, I rushed him on over to the emergency room, everything is ok, the blockage was extracted, and prescriptions were filled, there were some cuts, but the doctor said it's pretty normal, especially when kids get constipated, and these things heal pretty quickly. They did x-rays and there are no more bits of foil in his tummy, whew. Robby's with his Aunt Amanda now, but I'm counting the hours until I can see him again. I just feel SO bad. I'm sure it will be funny one of these days, but honestly, what the heck am I gonna do when he starts driving? It just scares the crap out of me sometimes! So if you guys could send Robby some get well vibes through the blogosphere, I know he doesn't know what's going on, he was back to his ol' self(except for the toofs), I'm sure he felt some relief, I just hope he heals up very quickly! I'll leave you guys with some of the latest pictures of His Chubbiness.

oh bea, i am so sorry for mr. robby. the little guy sounds tough if he could make it all pass through. he has all my mama love vibes right now. and you too. i read your post to my mom and it generated a discussion of all of our crazy intake incidents. my lil' bro once stuck tiny screws waaaay up his nose and the m.d. had to extract them. maybe it is a rite of passage for all new moms. btw: my sister's name is amanda too. small world. hugs and smiles with wishes for better days ahead.

Poor Robby! And poor Momma! You guys both feel better soon!

Oh, poor, poor guy--and mom! Please don't let that mommy guilt get the best of you. Every single kid ever has swallowed something/stuck something up his nose or in his ear/fallen down the stairs, etc., etc. You cannot possibly protect him from every single potential hazard, even if you're the world's most perfect mom. It's great--fabulous--that you were paying attention and got the problem taken care of. Give him big kisses be glad it turned out so well. I'll send him some positive energy, too!

definitely sending out good well vibes to robby & you bea! glad robby's feeling back to his old self! my gosh, my friends and i would trade "and guess what i stuck up my nose when i was a kid..." stories all the time in college. it's ok, kids will stuff to get into to make us moms guilty and scared at times.

Oh no, poor sweetie! It's horrible and you must have been scared to death. I know I would have. Virtual hugs and kisses and tummy rubs and all the good vibes for Robby. :*

At least he didn't drink the wine. That would have been bad for both of you. ;-)

Oh no! How horrible. I hate when you don't know what's wrong with them... won't they just use their words to tell you already!

I'm so glad that it was easily diagnosed and fixed and I'm sure he'll be back to normal when you get home to him.

Hugs from Kaya to Robby.

Poor him and poor you! Stuff like this happens when you have kids. Don't beat yourself up about it. You'll protect him from the really dangerous stuff:D

Oh the poor little guy! And poor you too. I know how you must have felt when you saw that. But, he IS okay and he certainly does look happier than the last picture.

You'll handle his driving just fine; all these little things along the way will build up your resistance :)

My heart goes out to you both. I have four kids and MAN! the stuff they get into! Hang in there! This too shall pass!

Oh, man! That's scary. Bet you're both feeling better now.

btw, that kind of thing happens a lot. My first son was blissfully free from such things, but the second put *everything* in his mouth. I know how you feel.

Don't guilt yourself!

Auugh! That stuff happens. The guilt can be tremendous, but I'm hoping you both feel better quickly.

Our sons are twins!! Even down to the two bottom teeth!! I LOVE it!

I hope your little guy starts to feel better soon. He deserves a pony. I know this is unrealistic. Just sayin'.
