Daddy Pouch is done!!!

I've been working on getting a daddy pouch for Rob made. Sorry about the poor picture quality, no sunlight... The pouch has been one of the things that I have been needing to get finished before Robby makes his arrival. In less than two weeks, we will have an actual baby instead of stuffed animals I can model all of my sewn/knitted objects on. Robby doesn't know what's coming! All I have left after the pouch is hemp washcloths I want to sew up with a few yards of hemp french terry I got in the mail last week. Our Thanksgiving went great, LOTS of food and great family time. Here is the latest belly shot, can you tell Robby has dropped? He is now at station -3. I've been making good progress on Rob's BR sweater, I won't bore you guys with endless rows of stockinette, but I did finish the front and am halfway finished with the back. I also started those denim jeans I found in Knitty, did you know the dark colored Rowan Denim yarn will stain your fingers and your needles? I'm making them the 6-12 month size because everything I read says the baby will be that size before you know it.

Those pouchy slingy deals are cool. There is a lady at our church who uses one and it seems like a good idea. You need to tell us how to build one so I can put my grandma (Nana) on it.

Good job getting things done on a deadline! Are you going to have a guest blogger make your birth announcement or are we going to have to wait??????

Bea!! The reason you are reading that people think the baby will be that size before you know it is because of 2 reasons.

1. The clothing industry always makes smaller rather then larger to scale. It's a conspiracy to make us all obsessive about our weight even as babies =).

2. Seriously, By the time you realize you need to put your baby into some of the clothes that you made a year has passed. I say this only cause for the first 4 months your in total exhaustion mode from lack of sleep. The next 4 months are spent trying to figure out how many diapers a baby can go through a day as well as what appointment is coming up now. The last 4 months will be spent trying to figure out why you can't seem to remember what happened the first 8 months.

Jessie:
Hopefully I will be able to put the announcement up on Bea's family website. It is at www.kwakfamily.org

I was actually thinking about making the little denim jeans for my friend whose baby is due at the end of January. I am already making a sweater and blanket for baby, so I might just cool out for now. I am making a simple fisherman's rib hat from Rebecca and when I get to the decrease I want to tear my hair out along with the yarn. It's probably the simplest thing, but the wording is a bit confusing. But I will figure it out...
